User agreement

A clear, complete understanding between you and Crafzen.

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Welcome to Crafzen (the "Service"), provided by Crafzen ("we," "us," or "our"), operating at crafzen.top. This User Agreement (this "Agreement") describes your relationship with us and explains the terms that govern your use of the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Agreement and our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to any part of this Agreement, you may not access or use the Service.

1. What this agreement covers

This Agreement defines the relationship between you and Crafzen. It covers:

  • What we expect from each other when you use the Service.
  • The intellectual property rights in the content you encounter and create.
  • How we handle problems or disputes if they arise.
  • The conditions under which we may modify, suspend, or terminate your access to the Service.

When you use the Service, you also agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict between this Agreement and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service shall prevail.

2. Service provider

Crafzen is provided by Crafzen, an independent project operating at crafzen.top. The Service is offered to users worldwide, subject to applicable local laws. By using the Service, you confirm that you are legally permitted to enter into this Agreement under the laws of your country of residence.

3. Age requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must use the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children's activity on the Service.

If you are under the age required to manage your own account under applicable law, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service, and the parent or guardian is responsible for your use. Crafzen does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. For details, see our Privacy Policy, Section 9 (Children's Privacy).

If we display advertising through Google AdSense or similar partners, we do not serve personalised ads to users we know to be under 13, and we do not use activity from child-directed content to target personalised advertising, in accordance with COPPA and Google's Publisher Policies.

4. Your relationship with Crafzen

4.1 The services we provide

Crafzen is a public resource for people with mobility needs, families, carers, designers, operators, and anyone learning about accessibility. Our Service includes:

  • Educational articles, planning ideas, and guides about accessible design and daily living.
  • Browser-based calculator and checklist tools that run entirely on your device.
  • A contact form for enquiries and feedback.

We work to develop, improve, and update the Service continuously. We may add or remove features, articles, or tools. If we make a significant change that affects your experience, or if we decide to discontinue a feature, we will try to provide advance notice (except in urgent or emergency situations).

4.2 What we expect from you

When you use Crafzen, you agree to:

  • Follow this Agreement and our Terms of Service: Comply with all applicable laws, this Agreement, and the specific policies referenced herein. Crafzen retains all intellectual property rights in the Service.
  • Respect others: Do not harass, defame, impersonate, or harm any person or group. Respect the privacy and intellectual property rights of others, including copyright, trademark, and other proprietary rights.
  • Not misuse the Service: You agree not to:
  • Introduce malware, spyware, or any malicious code to the Service.
  • Bypass protective measures, filters, or security mechanisms on the Service.
  • Attempt to crack, hack, or gain unauthorised access to any Crafzen system, server, or account.
  • Engage in phishing attacks or other social engineering against other users.
  • Create false accounts, identities, or reviews, or otherwise misrepresent yourself or the Service.
  • Mislead others into believing that AI-generated or generic content is the work of a specific person or professional.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code or proprietary data from the Service.
  • Violate machine-readable instructions (such as robots.txt) to scrape, collect, or harvest data from the Service.
  • Use the Service to develop, train, or improve machine learning models without our written permission.
  • Present general Crafzen content as an individual professional assessment, medical diagnosis, construction approval, or legal advice.

4.3 Content usage licence

Crafzen does not claim ownership of any original content you create. You retain all intellectual property rights in any content you submit through the Service (for example, through a contact form or feedback channel) ("User Content").

However, by submitting User Content, you grant Crafzen a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

  • Host, store, copy, and distribute your User Content.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or reformat your User Content as needed for operating the Service.
  • Create derivative works based on your User Content for service-improvement purposes (such as identifying common questions and improving article coverage).
  • Sub-license these rights to service providers and contractors who help us operate the Service, under confidentiality obligations.

This licence lasts for the duration of your use of the Service. If you request that we remove your User Content, we will stop publicly displaying it. Please note that content you share with others (such as through third-party links) or that has been indexed by search engines may persist outside our control.

5. Using Crafzen

5.1 No account required

Crafzen is designed as a mostly static information site. The calculators and checklist tools run entirely in your browser and do not require an account. Where you use a contact form, you are responsible for any information you submit and for keeping it accurate.

5.2 Using on behalf of an organisation

If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation to this Agreement. In that case, "you" refers to that organisation.

5.3 Service-related communications

We may send you service-related announcements or information (such as responses to contact form submissions). You are responsible for the accuracy of any contact information you provide. If you give us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

5.4 Network charges

The Service may use internet connectivity in the background (for example, to load images, fonts, or analytics). You are responsible for any charges from your mobile network, Wi-Fi, or other connectivity providers related to your use of the Service.

6. Content on Crafzen

6.1 Your content

Crafzen does not claim ownership of any User Content you create or submit. You may publish your own content through the Service where features allow (such as contact form submissions). You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.

If you believe that content on Crafzen infringes your copyright, please send a notice to [email protected] with the following information: (a) identification of the copyrighted work, (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on the Service, (c) your contact information, (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised, and (e) a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

6.2 Crafzen content

The Service's original content — including articles, guides, tool interfaces, design, graphics, logos, and software — is and will remain the exclusive property of Crafzen and its licensors. This content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not remove, obscure, or alter any branding, logo, or legal notice displayed on the Service.

6.3 Other content

The Service may allow you to access content provided by other people or organisations (for example, third-party article images and linked resources). You may not use that content without the permission of its owner. The views expressed in third-party content do not represent the views of Crafzen.

7. Software on Crafzen

If the Service provides any software (such as in-browser scripts or downloadable tools), we grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free licence to use that software for the purpose of using the Service. This licence does not include the right to:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or rent the software.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code.
  • Use the software for any commercial purpose without our written consent.

If any software on the Service is open-source software, the applicable open-source licence terms will apply in place of this section. Crafzen respects open-source licences and makes relevant source available where required.

8. If problems or disagreements arise

8.1 Warranties

Crafzen is provided using reasonable skill and care. We aim to deliver a reliable, accessible, and educational Service. If the Service does not meet this standard and it causes you a direct loss, we will work with you to resolve the issue.

8.2 Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, legal advice, construction approval, or a professional assessment of your individual circumstances. You should not fully rely on the Service for decisions in professional fields — including medical, legal, and financial — without consulting a qualified professional.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that results will be accurate or reliable. Accessibility standards, building codes, product specifications, and individual needs vary by region and over time. Always verify measurements independently and consult a qualified local professional before making a safety-critical decision.

8.3 Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Crafzen, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
  • Any loss arising from your reliance on, or action taken or not taken in reliance on, any content or tool result on the Service.
  • Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.
  • Any third-party conduct or content.

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

In no event shall our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars (USD 100.00), whichever is greater. As Crafzen is a free service, this provision effectively limits our liability to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8.4 Actions we may take

If we become aware that you have violated this Agreement, applicable law, or the rights of others, we may take action. Before taking action, we will try to notify you and give you an opportunity to address the issue, unless the situation is urgent.

Actions we may take include:

  • Removing your content: We may remove User Content that violates this Agreement, applicable law, or the rights of others.
  • Suspending or terminating your access: If you repeatedly violate this Agreement, or if a single violation is serious enough, we may suspend or terminate your access to the Service.

If your access is terminated, you may request a review of the decision by contacting us at [email protected].

8.5 Resolving disputes, governing law, and courts

Informal resolution

In the event of any dispute, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] with a detailed description. We will use reasonable efforts to respond within thirty (30) days.

Governing law

This Agreement and any dispute arising out of or in connection with it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Jurisdiction

For any legal proceedings not resolved informally, the parties agree that the exclusive jurisdiction shall be vested in the state and federal courts located in the United States. You hereby submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection to venue or forum non conveniens.

Consumer protection

Nothing in this Agreement shall deprive you of any mandatory rights that apply to you under the laws of the country in which you reside, where such rights cannot be waived by contract. If a court of competent jurisdiction determines that any provision of this Agreement is unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

9. Prohibited content and conduct

To maintain a safe and educational environment, and to comply with Google AdSense Publisher Policies, the following content and conduct are prohibited on the Service:

  • Illegal content: Content that is illegal, promotes illegal activities, or infringes the legal rights of others.
  • Intellectual property abuse: Copyright infringement, sale or promotion of counterfeit products, or use of third-party trademarks without authorisation.
  • Hate, harassment, and discrimination: Content that incites hatred, discriminates against, defames, harasses, or bullies any person or group.
  • Harmful content: Content that promotes physical or mental harm, including self-harm, violence, terrorism, or substance abuse.
  • Deceptive practices: Misrepresentation of identity or purpose, phishing, false claims, manipulated media, or "get-rich-quick" schemes.
  • Dishonest conduct: Content that facilitates cheating, including fake credentials, essay-writing services, hacking tutorials, or tools to bypass DRM or copyright protection.
  • Explicit content: Sexual acts, nudity, or non-consensual sexual themes.
  • Child safety: Any content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers children — including "grooming" and sexual extortion — is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination and a report to appropriate authorities.
  • Animal cruelty: Content promoting animal abuse or sale of endangered species products.

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate termination of access without notice.

10. Advertising and third-party partners

If we display advertising through Google AdSense or other advertising partners, the following applies:

  • Advertising content is clearly distinguishable from Crafzen's editorial content. Ads will not occupy more space than the page's primary content.
  • We do not allow ads on pages that are under construction, have no publisher content, or contain only copied embedded content without added value.
  • We do not serve personalised ads to users we know to be under 13, and we do not use activity from child-directed content to target personalised advertising.
  • We do not allow personalised advertising based on sensitive categories — including health/medical records, financial status, race, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, trade union membership, or criminal record.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising using the links in our Privacy Policy, Section 8.
  • Ads will not overlap with navigation elements or be placed on "no-way-out" screens that prevent users from returning to the main content.

11. Third-party links and services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Crafzen. Some article images and resources are provided by external websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You acknowledge and agree that Crafzen is not liable for any damage or loss caused by your use of any third-party website or service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Crafzen and its directors, employees, partners, agents, and affiliates harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of or access to the Service.
  • Your violation of this Agreement or our Terms of Service.
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Any User Content you submit.

13. Suspension and termination

13.1 Termination by us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever — including without limitation if you breach this Agreement. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

13.2 Termination by you

You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have submitted information through a contact form and wish to have it removed, you may request deletion by contacting us at [email protected].

13.3 Survival

All provisions of this Agreement which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination — including but not limited to ownership, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitation of liability sections.

14. Changes to this agreement

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace this Agreement at any time. We may update this Agreement when:

  • The Service changes or we add new features.
  • Legal or regulatory requirements change.
  • We need to protect against abuse or ensure compliance.

We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will try to provide advance notice. If you do not agree to the new Agreement, you should stop using the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Agreement becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Agreement.

15. Entire agreement

This Agreement, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire and exclusive agreement between Crafzen and you regarding the Service, and supersedes and replaces any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and understandings — whether oral or written — between you and us regarding the subject matter hereof.
